Minnesota took down the Atlanta Hawks 100-92 on Monday, but there was a pretty scary moment early in the game that thankfully didn’t result in any injuries.

As the first quarter was coming to a close, Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert and Hawks forward Mouhamed Gueye just barely dodged getting hit in the head by something that fell from the scoreboard. At that point, Minnesota was leading the shorthanded Hawks 28-20, and as Gobert and his teammates headed back to the bench, an object dropped right between the free-throw line and the three-point arc. It definitely caught Gobert off guard, making him brace himself, while Naz Reid looked up to see what was going on. From what we could see on the broadcast, it looked like a piece of the horn that signals substitutions or the end of a quarter.
Gobert ended the game with 18 points and 10 rebounds. With this win, Minnesota improved to 24-21 for the season.
